I love rainy days. I like the sound of the rain falling on the roof while drinking something hot. Last June, when it was raining cats and dogs, Justin and I headed to my favorite hang out place in UP Village. We first went to Crazy Katsu for some delicious crunchy Chicken Katsu. For Php 145, a piece of fried chicken cutlet comes with a bowl of rice. You can add Japanese Mayo and Tonkatsu sauce for better appreciation. Trust me, they do make the chicken better. :)
Justin, about to dig in!
Mixing some Japanese Mayo and Tonkatsu sauce.
Since we were still a bit hungry, we went next door to a small coffee shop that sells/rents out old pocket books. Camille and I usually go there for some Pannacotta and I wanted Justin to try it too. I like hanging outside because it was a bit windy. We ordered a bowl of hot Pork Sinigang and Calderetang Lechon Kawali.
Their plates and bowls make the whole dining experience feel so homey.
Homemade Pork Sinigang with a cup of rice, The broth was yummy! It had just the right amount of sourness. I did wish there was more pork inside.
Calderetang Lechon Kawali. It came with three slices of fried potatoes ala Shakey's Mojos. This was definitely a winner! The thinly sliced crunchy Liempo accompanied by Caldereta sauce was really good. Portion was small but for the price, it was worth it.
Justin, writing his book.
Me, watching a movie using my iPod.
It was a perfect weather for a bowl of hot Sinigang!
A cup of Hot Mint Chocolate for Justin and a cup of Peppermint Tea for me. Actually, they don't serve any tea but since I always bring a packet of tea with me, I just asked for a cup of hot water.
Justin, enjoying his Hot Choco!
For the grand finale, their melt-in-your-mouth Pannacotta! The simplicity of this dessert makes it so memorable.
It was gone in just a few seconds!
Oh wait, there's more! For some reason, we still weren't full so we ordered a plate of Anchovy Angel Hair Pasta. The noodles were a bit overcooked but the sauce was fabulous.
The best of it all, our bill was only Php 280!! I will definitely come back! :)
