Christmas and Rainy Days

I've been so busy last week that I wasn't able to update my blog anymore! My mom and sister were here to visit me and to go with me to the doctor to have a pesky lump looked at. I swear, my hormones are in total action-mode as I've been having problems with lumps and cysts this year. Anyway, the doctor said that it has to be removed in order to know whether or not it has bad cells. I went to KK Women and Children's Hospital; which I must say is really really nice. The hospital can be compared to Medical City. Considering that KK is owned by the government, I couldn't help but think where the heck our taxes are going. Going back, the hospital concierge considered my lump as an Aesthetic Surgery so they referred me to a plastic surgeon. Yes, the ones that do face lifts. Haha. The surgery would cost roughly S$600 (Php 19,800), which is reasonable enough. My mom wanted to have it done right then and there because it's an outpatient operation and the doctor was available. Nooo! I almost cried convincing my mom that I was not ready. Thankfully, she conceded and compromised to have it done when I come home this December. I also thank God that He gave me a super understanding boss. He was genuinely concerned and even told me to take care of my health first because work could come later. :) So I'm comin' home on the 18th! My ticket is so darn expensive! I swear, it costs as much as a Sony Vaio mini laptop already. Haha. At least I get to see my family and doggies when I get home. I'm so excited!!

I have also started doing my Christmas shopping already. I usually start in September but because of my 'bum' status for the last two months, I had to go into 'tipid' (saving) mode. I have finished my Christmas list yesterday and so far have purchased gifts for five people and two doggies! I bought beds for Taylor and Yumi, both from Ikea. Taylor's bed is like a real mini bed frame. I'll just have someone sew a foam to be used as a bed. It's really so cute! For Yumi, I bought a small tent and bed so she can have her own private space, like a little princess! Can't wait to finish shopping for everyone on my list! Oh, and since I'm coming home early this December, I was thinking of hosting my yearly Christmas dinner at home. Well, I won't be cooking up a storm anymore, I'll probably call out for takeout and just make dessert.

I've also been thinking of joining a gym here. My officemate, Rej, just joined Fitness First, which is very convenient because their gym is just beside our office building. They even have a pool! However, monthly membership fee is S$137!! Boo. I have a 7-day trial that starts today but it's been raining non-stop since last night. I don't know if I will still be able to swim given that their pool isn't covered. Hopefully it stops at 6PM.

Anyway, will post pictures soon! :)

Hospital Cheat Sheets

Hello mommies! Sorry I have been busy trying to balance spending quality time with my baby, the pastry shop @joaniescupcakes and our newly launched online store, Petit Bébé PH.  Check out our IG and FB pages if you have time, @petitbebeph. 😍 Anyway, a lot as been asking about the hospital lists that I made for my delivery so here they are! As some of you might know, I am quite OC about paperwork and I have no pain tolerance so I really wanted to make sure that my doctors did not miss anything about my medical history. I was also confined 3x during my pregnancy. This is why I wanted to make sure that my list is detailed so we could avoid mistakes. Information Sheet This is the information sheet that I made. I consulted my OB prior to my delivery about the things that will be asked during check in/ labor. The text is RED are things you need to fill out on the way to the hospital as you might not have enough time to print them when you start contracting. Birth Plan ...

Eating at Home

Reg and I have been trying to lose weight to better control our sugar intake. We ate out a lot when I was still pregnant so he gained "pregnancy pounds" as well. Haha! I have been going to the supermarket to buy 3 weeks worth of dinners the past 2 months and I have been making weekly menu plans to help us achieve our goal. Honestly, I have always felt lazy to do this menu because the meats available at the grocery varies every week. I tend to buy what looks good so I can't stick to 1 set of menu come marketing time. First, let's start with the supermarket. We are closer to Unimart Greenhills but I feel that prices there are higher and there are times when their stock delivery is delayed. I always end up not being able to buy everything that I need. In order for this menu planning to succeed, I now go to my trusty Landmark Supermarket in Trinoma. I used to shop there when I was still single but I stopped going when I moved after getting married because I hated the ...

Giving Up

There are things in life that makes you want to give up. Don't get me wrong, I'm not currently depressed. 😅 I was out with my mom the other day and chanced upon a dance store. For some reason, I always try to look for a white tutu even when I don't plan to buy one. You see, when I was in Prep-1, I joined a dance program in school. The teacher told us to bring white tutus and white ballet shoes. My parents and I scoured many SM Department Stores but all we could find were pink tutus and shoes. Remember that this was in the 90's so there were limited malls in Metro Manila. The usual next step is to go back to school and tell my teacher that it was impossible to find one, right? Well, that's what all of my classmates did. My parents? Impossible was (and still is) not in their vocabulary. My mom designed and sewed an all-white ballet ensemble just for me! I was the only one who came to class with what the teacher asked us to bring. Everyone else brought pink. And even ...
