Spent an afternoon in Eastwood Mall two weeks ago and had dinner with my family in the newly opened Choi Garden. It's located at the third floor, outside the mall proper.
Choi had come a long way from the first restaurant they've opened in Robinson's Galleria named Mr. Choi. I remember how my mom and brother will go there just to take out some BBQ Pork Asado. They were able to duplicate the exact taste of the pork from Cafe de Coral in Hongkong, which has always been a family favorite.
Choi Garden in Eastwood Mall is an upscale version of Mr. Choi. Price is still affordable for the servings.
Coldcuts Platter. I really like the appearance of this dish. The glossy finish of the sauce makes one's mouth water! The taste was also great. Everything was freshly made.
Mapo Tofu. I did not like this dish at all, although my family thought it was good. I felt that the taste lacked that subtle kick that every dish needs.
Polonchay with Garlic. I am currently addicted to this vegetable. Taste is the same as any Chinese restaurant would serve it but nonetheless, very good!
Lechon Macau. Deep fried pork with crispy skin. Very good!
Shrimp Hofan. Sweet, succulent shrimp covered in rice wrapper with sweet soy sauce.
Mango Sago. I've been eating this since I was a kid and I still crave for it from time to time. Their sago did not disappoint. It was perfectly cooked and the Mango puree was just right, not too sweet.
After dinner, I met up with my friend Jacqy, who is staying in Manila for a month to study. We went to La Creperie, which is also in Eastwood Mall.
I was not able to photograph what she ordered but I ordered a plain crepe with Cinnamon, Butter and Powdered Sugar.
Cinnamon Crepe. Very delicious!
TWG French Earl Grey Tea. This has got to be the best Earl Grey I've tasted. I've been buying different brands non-stop since my last trip to HK and I hit the jackpot when I decided to try their tea. A must-try!
Overall, I was very happy with Choi Garden and La Creperie. If you ever find yourself in Eastwood, you should definitely try these restaurants. :)
