Imperial Palace Garden Restaurant at Tampines 1

I met my aunt and their friends at Tampines 1 because I wanted to bring them to Ikea. Since it was around 2-3PM already and they were already starving, they decided to just eat at this restaurant instead. They ordered a set menu which costs around S$200++. Braised Beef with Radishes. This was very good. The beef was very tender and the sauce was flavorful. It goes very well with rice. Gu Ba Teng with Taro (Pork Soup). The pork was also very tender and the taste of the soup has a mixture of taro and pork broth. Crystal Prawns. This has got to be one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. I love Prawns but this one is really delicious. Fish with Mushrooms. The fish was cooked just right. The meat was firm but tender to the bite! Red Bean Soup for dessert! I guess it's an acquired taste but I really love it!

Marché at 313 Somerset

Marché is a new restaurant in 313 Somerset that has a very looooong line! :) The restaurant has a very unique concept in which they give you a card when you enter and they charge you per food you order, much like a credit card. They have different stations where you have to fall in line and order. When you enter the restaurant, you have to go down 2 flights of stairs. Their restaurant is underground. You can see these lambs on your way down. Paella Station. Dessert Station. A cart of potatoes! I really like how they designed their restaurant. Salad Bar. Juice Bar. Drinks Bar. Chicken Crepe @ S$10.50. This order took around 30 minutes to get! The line was long and it takes them quite a while to finish one crepe. It comes with Creamy Mushroom Sauce. It has Roasted Capsicum Paste, Chicken and Vegetables. It was so-so. Nothing special. For the price, I could have eaten a nice big piece of Steak. Hehe. Calamari with Tartar Sauce. Auntie Kathy ordered this dish. It tastes like the typical Ca...

Food Opera at ION Orchard

My Auntie Kathy and cousin, Kim, was here for a few days last week because she had a swimming competition. We met up for dinner and I was suppose to bring them to BBQ Seafood at the Food Opera but they wanted noodles so we ate at a different stall instead. Somerset Beef Noodles Dry Beef Noodles @ S$6.50. I prefer to order the dry noodles because they put this yummy gravy and give you soup in a separate bowl. It's sort of like Ma Ki Mi but with beef. Beef Noodle Soup @ S$6.50. Oyster Cake. I don't know how much this is because Auntie Kathy just came to the table with this already. It's really good but I like the Oyster Cake from Coral in Manila. Assorted Cold Cuts consisting of Roasted Chicken, Pork Asado and Roasted Duck. I don't know how much this is either. Hehe. Hong Kong's cold cuts are better!

Best Meal in the World

I love McDonald's in Singapore. My usual fast food of choice in Manila is KFC but their chicken here is icky! Haha Anyway, I forgot which of this day this was last week but I remembered that I was dead tired and needed a pick-me-up so I headed to McDonald's for a cheeseburger! Doesn't that look so yummy? Haha. This meal consists of a Cheeseburger, Coke Light, and French Fries. I'm also addicted to their Garlic Chili Sauce. It goes well with their French Fries! I can go through 6 packets per meal!

My Last Day at ABF

I spent the last day in the office finishing my program for Green Manufacturing and turning over my upcoming conferences to my colleagues. It was quite an eventful day as 3 of my speakers were finally able to finalise their topics as we were sending the brochure to the printers. I was lucky because I thought I wouldn't be able to finish everything on time. For lunch, we went to the usual goodbye place, called Marquee. It's located at Boat Quay. I really love this place because they really really know how to cook their cauliflowers! Haha Iris, Christine and Rej each ordered from the Asian turo-turo while I chose to eat my usual Salmon with Pasta. I really love how they cook this dish. That's my cubicle after clearing it out. Notice how the trash can is full! Haha. I was so stressed that day that I had eaten a lot of snacks. Hehe. Empty office. Everyone has gone home except Rej and I! Goodbye ABF! I will really miss you guys.. :) I'll see you all again when I visit in N...

Ikea Finds Part 2

I was packing my things into the big box already so I decided to take pictures of the rest of my 'loot' from the Ikea Sale. Roasting Pan @ S$19.00. I've been dreaming of a roasting pan since last year. Unfortunately, the ones I saw in Gourdo's are too big for our oven in Manila! It's good I found one that is cheap and fits perfectly. A set of kitchen knives @ S$19.00. A new set just for the clean kitchen! From top left to right - 1) A set of 2 whisks @ S$1.90. I saw Nigella Lawson use this kind of whisk in beating eggs and I really liked it! It's so cute, right? :) 2) Wooden Utensils @ S$1.90. For my new set of pots and pans! 3) Dress Covers (3 pcs.) @ S$2-3.00. 4) A set of containers (15 pcs.) @ S$5.90. I bought them because they're sooo cheap! High Chair for Nathan @ S$29.00 I know it's way too early but it's just 3 more months to go! Baby's first meal set @ S$5.90. I wanted the red one to match his high chair but it was sold out! The blue one ...

Roasted Chicken with Gravy and Chocolate Pudding

Ayn had been requesting for me to make Roasted Chicken for quite sometime. It's the one I made last December for my Christmas Party at home. Since it was a Saturday and I was also craving for chicken, I decided to try my luck with the oven we have here at home. Here it is - For the marinate, mix together some Salt, Pepper, Onion Power, Thyme and Rosemary. I only have dried herbs so these are what I used. Just estimate because I didn't really measure anything. Mix in some oil, preferably Olive Oil. Loosen the skin from the meat of the chicken and insert some butter cubes. Pour the marinate all over the chicken. Leave it for an hour or more. In this case, I was in a hurry so I wasn't able to marinate it long. Put it in the oven at 250C for an hour or until the juice between the leg and breast runs clear. While waiting for the chicken to finish baking, boil the head, feet and neck to make chicken stock. When the chicken is done, put the excess juice in a saucepan. Boil until i...
