Candy's in CDO

I went to Camiguin with my new officemates earlier this month and had a stopover in CDO before heading back to Manila. Those of us who opted not to go White Water Rafting had lunch at Candy's instead. :)

Candy's reminds me of Cibo and Cyma combined. It serves mostly Italian food with a delicious selection of salad and Asian rice toppings.

Ana with her frosty, ice-cold San Mig Light!

They have an assortment of cakes and pastries.

Their salad was delicious! It was very much like Cyma's Roka Salata.

Crispy Cheese Pizza! This was fabulous. The crust just had a good crunch and the melted cheese was to die for!

Baby Back Ribs. I can't remember whether or not I have tasted this but it looks darn good from the picture. Haha.

I forgot the real name of this dessert! Basically, it's Chocolate-covered Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream and Nuts inside.

Looks good but the looks exceeds the taste. The Chocolate covering was good though.

Overall, I enjoyed Candy's. It was a nice to eat something so familiar so far away. :)

  1. You mean the Tartufo! :) There are days though that the cake is kind of stale but altogether tastes divine :)

  2. Hi Kristine! Oh yeah! It's called Tartufo. :) So true, I think they could further improve on the cake recipe but chocolate is still chocolate! Haha :)

Hospital Cheat Sheets

Hello mommies! Sorry I have been busy trying to balance spending quality time with my baby, the pastry shop @joaniescupcakes and our newly launched online store, Petit Bébé PH.  Check out our IG and FB pages if you have time, @petitbebeph. 😍 Anyway, a lot as been asking about the hospital lists that I made for my delivery so here they are! As some of you might know, I am quite OC about paperwork and I have no pain tolerance so I really wanted to make sure that my doctors did not miss anything about my medical history. I was also confined 3x during my pregnancy. This is why I wanted to make sure that my list is detailed so we could avoid mistakes. Information Sheet This is the information sheet that I made. I consulted my OB prior to my delivery about the things that will be asked during check in/ labor. The text is RED are things you need to fill out on the way to the hospital as you might not have enough time to print them when you start contracting. Birth Plan ...

Eating at Home

Reg and I have been trying to lose weight to better control our sugar intake. We ate out a lot when I was still pregnant so he gained "pregnancy pounds" as well. Haha! I have been going to the supermarket to buy 3 weeks worth of dinners the past 2 months and I have been making weekly menu plans to help us achieve our goal. Honestly, I have always felt lazy to do this menu because the meats available at the grocery varies every week. I tend to buy what looks good so I can't stick to 1 set of menu come marketing time. First, let's start with the supermarket. We are closer to Unimart Greenhills but I feel that prices there are higher and there are times when their stock delivery is delayed. I always end up not being able to buy everything that I need. In order for this menu planning to succeed, I now go to my trusty Landmark Supermarket in Trinoma. I used to shop there when I was still single but I stopped going when I moved after getting married because I hated the ...

Giving Up

There are things in life that makes you want to give up. Don't get me wrong, I'm not currently depressed. 😅 I was out with my mom the other day and chanced upon a dance store. For some reason, I always try to look for a white tutu even when I don't plan to buy one. You see, when I was in Prep-1, I joined a dance program in school. The teacher told us to bring white tutus and white ballet shoes. My parents and I scoured many SM Department Stores but all we could find were pink tutus and shoes. Remember that this was in the 90's so there were limited malls in Metro Manila. The usual next step is to go back to school and tell my teacher that it was impossible to find one, right? Well, that's what all of my classmates did. My parents? Impossible was (and still is) not in their vocabulary. My mom designed and sewed an all-white ballet ensemble just for me! I was the only one who came to class with what the teacher asked us to bring. Everyone else brought pink. And even ...
