5 Things!

1. What were you doing ten years ago?
Ten years ago, I was still in grade school.. Grade 6 to be exact! I was nervous about getting my grade average above 85% so that I won't have to attend summer classes anymore. Thankfully, I was able to get like, 85.9%! Haha. Oh, and not to fish but I won Ms. Sportsfest that year too! Those were the days.

2. What were you doing one year ago?
I was working for my family a year ago. I think I was still doing the trading back then. Hmm.. what else? I also celebrated Taylor’s first whole year with me on this particular month, February.

3. What are five snacks you enjoy?
My top 5 are: dark bittersweet chocolate, chocolate cake, cookies, chips and my signature pasta dish!

4. What are five songs you know the lyrics to?
a. Perhaps Love by Howl and J: “Sarangangaeyo.. kudenawa kap danyon Shijagingayo… “
This is from the Korean series, Goong.
I’m not really into Asian series but this was funny and romantic at the same time.. and even if the song is entirely in Korean and I do not speak a word of it, I was still able to memorize it!

b. Defying Gravity by Wicked (the play): “Elfaba, why can’t you just have stayed for once instead of flying off the handle! I hope you’re happy. I hope you’re happy now. I hope you’re happy how you’ve hurt your cause forever. I hope you think you’re clever…”
I’ve heard a lot of buzz about this play and decided to read the book. Although I really didn’t like the book that much, I got addicted to their soundtrack. This particular song is my favorite because it connotes standing up to your beliefs and dreams. Nice to listen to when angry!

c. That’s How Your Love by Diamond Rio: “It’s like just before dark, jump in the car. Buy an ice cream and see how far we could drive before it melts.. That’s how your love makes me feel.”
I got this song from when I was still planning weddings. I think I just downloaded this from the internet thinking it was a cheesy song I could use. It’s country and the tune is very catchy. It doesn’t hurt that the lyrics make you feel ‘loved’ too!

d. Happily Never After by Nicole Scherzinger: “I don’t think I want this anymore.. As she dropped her ring to the floor. She said to herself you’ve lived before. This time you will stay gone that’s for sure.”
I know not everyone likes Nicole S. but I’ve always been a fan of her song. I think this is sort of like the modern day “Superwoman” song by Karen White. Very catchy and I think I’ve played this song more than a thousand times already!

e. Only Me and You by Donna Cruz: “It’s enough for me that I have come to love, for you, I see. Because the heart I have could only want you.”
Last but not the least, my forever idol, Donna Cruz! I even went to the theaters to watch her movies and bought all original cassette tapes (yeah, you read right!). Haha.

5. Five Things You Would Do If You Were A Millionaire
a. Invest in my family business
b. Start my own wedding planning business
c. Sponsor kids to school
d. Sponsor the Home for the Aged in Marikina
e. Buy a house in a village in Tagaytay!

6. Five Bad Habits
Eating too much junk, swearing, biting my fingernails, too impulsive and sarcasm

7. Five Things You Like To Do
Read, go shopping, cook/bake, host parties and swim

8. Five Things You Would Never Wear
This is hard to answer given that I follow fashion fads! Haha. I guess, 6-inch hooker heels.. and uhm.. I can’t think of anything else!

9. Five Favorite Toys
Mobile phone, my Macbook – Victoria, swimsuit, my Havaianas flipflops (there’s really nothing to level with this brand), and green rubber duckie on my table

10. Five Things You Hate To Do
Take out the trash, bend over to pick things up, wake up early, moving when I’ve already in bed and running/ going to the gym

So that’s it! :)

Hospital Cheat Sheets

Hello mommies! Sorry I have been busy trying to balance spending quality time with my baby, the pastry shop @joaniescupcakes and our newly launched online store, Petit Bébé PH.  Check out our IG and FB pages if you have time, @petitbebeph. 😍 Anyway, a lot as been asking about the hospital lists that I made for my delivery so here they are! As some of you might know, I am quite OC about paperwork and I have no pain tolerance so I really wanted to make sure that my doctors did not miss anything about my medical history. I was also confined 3x during my pregnancy. This is why I wanted to make sure that my list is detailed so we could avoid mistakes. Information Sheet This is the information sheet that I made. I consulted my OB prior to my delivery about the things that will be asked during check in/ labor. The text is RED are things you need to fill out on the way to the hospital as you might not have enough time to print them when you start contracting. Birth Plan My s

Eating at Home

Reg and I have been trying to lose weight to better control our sugar intake. We ate out a lot when I was still pregnant so he gained "pregnancy pounds" as well. Haha! I have been going to the supermarket to buy 3 weeks worth of dinners the past 2 months and I have been making weekly menu plans to help us achieve our goal. Honestly, I have always felt lazy to do this menu because the meats available at the grocery varies every week. I tend to buy what looks good so I can't stick to 1 set of menu come marketing time. First, let's start with the supermarket. We are closer to Unimart Greenhills but I feel that prices there are higher and there are times when their stock delivery is delayed. I always end up not being able to buy everything that I need. In order for this menu planning to succeed, I now go to my trusty Landmark Supermarket in Trinoma. I used to shop there when I was still single but I stopped going when I moved after getting married because I hated the

Hospital Packing List

I’m an OC person when it comes to packing. I love checklists! When I was at home on bedrest, I had plenty of time to get ready for the delivery. I didn’t want to go to the hospital with incomplete things so I started researching online and mommy blogs on what to pack when D-day comes. I made this list 3 months before my due date. I was paranoid because I had 3 hospital confinements during my pregnancy. I wanted to make sure that everything was ready.  When my OB told me that I was being induced on my 37th week, I made sure I ran through everything with my husband and our nanny. I have very low pain tolerance so I didn’t want them asking me where everything was when I was recovering! 😂 I divided the list into 3 categories: Mommy Daddy Baby I had to make sure my husband had an extra pillow and blanket so his back wouldn’t hurt from sleeping in the couch. I was expecting us to stay longer than normal as I was being induced. He needed to be in tiptop shape for our baby gi
