Saturday Brunch

Saturdays are usually spent at home - waking up late and resting. We still had a pack of bacon from Manila that my sister brought here when she visited last February. We were saving it for a weekend because bacon is better when eaten right after cooking. Maybe it's the freakishly hot weather but the defrosting time here is so much faster than that in Manila.. although I heard that it's also hot in Manila right now. Anyway, we also had some leftover rice so we decided to make Garlic Rice as well. Here are the steps in making this simple yet delicious brunch!

Mince 10 cloves of garlic. You don't have to chop it perfectly. Relex, it's just Garlic Rice!

P1010023
Saute garlic until golden brown then add the rice! I forgot to take pictures of the next steps so just mix everything together then serve!

The disaster of the eggs! Haha.

I wanted to make the bacon crispy so I decided to cook them in 2 batches, 3 strips at a time. No need for oil anymore because the bacon released its own oil. I put the first batch on paper towels while I cooked the second batch.

I put them all together again then sprinkled some sugar!

And there you have it! Crispy Bacon with Fried Egg and Garlic Rice!

Bon Appetit!

Time to wash the dishes!

P1010045
Oh no, the sugar crystalized on the pan!

The secret to cleaning this pan? Just add hot water! :)

Anyway, I really love this meal! *Sigh* I miss hotel breakfasts.
