Sunday Trip to Johor Bahru

My aunt, cousin, their friends and I went to JB for some shopping! We took Bus 170 near their hotel because it goes straight to the border of SG and Malaysia. The only thing that bothered me during this trip was the fact that Immigration took a long time. I even had to go to this holding room while they asked me questions regarding my return to Singapore. Hmph.

Anyway, we went to JB Sentral Mall and since it was already lunchtime, we had lunch at Season's. The prices are quite reasonable - around S$6-7.00 per meal.

As in SG, they call their Ketchup, 'Tomato Sauce'. Isn't it cute? Hehe.

Spaghetti Carbonara.

Longgan Juice.

Black Pepper Seafood Pasta. Too peppery for my taste!

Green Apple Milk Tea, Strawberry Milk Tea and Tiramisu Frap. I had the GA one and it's not good. The pearls were soggy and overcooked.

Thai Honey Chicken.

Seafood Cheesy Rice. I am not a big fan of Cheesy Rice but I guess this was okay. Nothing much to describe about this dish but their shrimps were good though.

Hawaiian Pizza.

Chicken Cheesy Rice.

Chicken Kebabs. I was the one who ordered this dish. Of everything, this was my favorite. The sauce was sweet and the Chicken was soft and tender.

Chicken Chop Rice with Coleslaw.

I saw a dilapidated house on our way to the Abu Bakar Mosque. It's quite charming in a scary kind of way!

Here are some pictures that I took at the Mosque.

We passed by the zoo while waiting for the cab to fetch us and we saw this cute Pelican!

Staircase going to the parking lot! So nice!

Auntie Kathy and Kim buying Bandung (Rose Flavour with Milk) and Soursop Juice (Guyabano Juice)!

These are my 'Manila Shots'. JB is a lot like Manila. Haha.

We went back to JB Sentral after visiting the Mosque because it was so hot outside. All of us got headaches! We just wanted to go to where there is air-conditioning. Haha.

Since we were all so tired, we decided to go to this restaurant to rest and grab a quick snack.

Water Chestnut Tea. It wasn't that good. The one is Singapore is much better.

Rose Tea. Very yummy!

Chinese-Style Egg Tarts.

The crust was a bit hard but the custard was good!

Roasted Chicken with Gravy. It's quite good!

They serve these noodles with the Chicken. They're quite tasteless but when you dip them in the gravy, they become very yummy!

Hospital Cheat Sheets

Hello mommies! Sorry I have been busy trying to balance spending quality time with my baby, the pastry shop @joaniescupcakes and our newly launched online store, Petit Bébé PH.  Check out our IG and FB pages if you have time, @petitbebeph. 😍 Anyway, a lot as been asking about the hospital lists that I made for my delivery so here they are! As some of you might know, I am quite OC about paperwork and I have no pain tolerance so I really wanted to make sure that my doctors did not miss anything about my medical history. I was also confined 3x during my pregnancy. This is why I wanted to make sure that my list is detailed so we could avoid mistakes. Information Sheet This is the information sheet that I made. I consulted my OB prior to my delivery about the things that will be asked during check in/ labor. The text is RED are things you need to fill out on the way to the hospital as you might not have enough time to print them when you start contracting. Birth Plan ...

Eating at Home

Reg and I have been trying to lose weight to better control our sugar intake. We ate out a lot when I was still pregnant so he gained "pregnancy pounds" as well. Haha! I have been going to the supermarket to buy 3 weeks worth of dinners the past 2 months and I have been making weekly menu plans to help us achieve our goal. Honestly, I have always felt lazy to do this menu because the meats available at the grocery varies every week. I tend to buy what looks good so I can't stick to 1 set of menu come marketing time. First, let's start with the supermarket. We are closer to Unimart Greenhills but I feel that prices there are higher and there are times when their stock delivery is delayed. I always end up not being able to buy everything that I need. In order for this menu planning to succeed, I now go to my trusty Landmark Supermarket in Trinoma. I used to shop there when I was still single but I stopped going when I moved after getting married because I hated the ...

Giving Up

There are things in life that makes you want to give up. Don't get me wrong, I'm not currently depressed. 😅 I was out with my mom the other day and chanced upon a dance store. For some reason, I always try to look for a white tutu even when I don't plan to buy one. You see, when I was in Prep-1, I joined a dance program in school. The teacher told us to bring white tutus and white ballet shoes. My parents and I scoured many SM Department Stores but all we could find were pink tutus and shoes. Remember that this was in the 90's so there were limited malls in Metro Manila. The usual next step is to go back to school and tell my teacher that it was impossible to find one, right? Well, that's what all of my classmates did. My parents? Impossible was (and still is) not in their vocabulary. My mom designed and sewed an all-white ballet ensemble just for me! I was the only one who came to class with what the teacher asked us to bring. Everyone else brought pink. And even ...
